TALENT RISES AT SUMMER SUNSET SESSIONS

The sun also rises for some of the industry's most promising artists starting Thursday, June 5th, when Michele Clark's Sunset Sessions once again brings light to their music and talent in Carlsbad, CA.

In the last 17 years, Sunset Sessions have helped launch the careers of emerging artists or artists who have rebanded and rebranded. Some of its prominent alumni whose careers were launched through the days long festival include Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, The Black Keys Five For Fighting, Dead Sea, Awolnation, Ryan Adams, Fun, etc.

Alongside new talent, legends, too, have performed at the event. Stevie Nicks, Carlos Santana, Chris Isaak, Melissa Etheridge, Jimmy Cliff, Sammy Hagar, Lucinda Willliams, Wayne Coyne, Ziggy Marley, Billy Corgan, POD, Richie Sambora, Jewel, Roseanne Cash, Stephen Stills, Rick Springfiled, Eddie Money, Serj Tankian, Jack Tempchin and Toots & The Maytals--all have graced the stages of this cross-genre, cross-generational musical showcase.

Organized by music business veteran Michele Clark, the Sunset Sessions conventions are a key opportunity for musicians and industry power players, including record labels, radio station programmers, music supervisors, managers, agents and artists to get together and network. Known for drawing together the entertainment industry’s most powerful and passionate professionals from network presidents to radio owners, agents, managers, record label presidents, music supervisors and non-profits, its purpose "is to expose the passionate tastemakers & gatekeepers of our music industry to the brightest new stars of tomorrow."

Artists scheduled to perform this week are TODDZERO, Semi-Precious Weapons, The Last Internationale, The Whigs, Godsmack, Open Air Stereo, Welshly Arms, Heartist, Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts and many more.

This year, two Sunset Sessions has been planned. Last February's event focused "primarily on the Triple A" format while this month's is geared to highlight "Active Rock and Alternative." Keynote speaker will be Eric Logan, President of the Oprah Winfrey Network. Both events are three days & nights and include various groundbreaking panels, listening parties, meals, keynote speakers, movie screenings, alumni jams, broadcasts, interviews and music in every shape and form.
